Visit from the Texas 4000 Smoky Mountain Cycling Team

The Texas 4000 Smoky Mountain team overnighted at St. Peter recently. Young men and women from the University of Texas are spending their summer riding their bikes 4000 miles to raise money for cancer research. The Texas 4000 crew received a wet welcome as they peddled through pounding rain to reach Cleveland after more than 30 days on their bikes. St. Peter parishoners and Bro. Phil greeted the riders with fried chicken and chili. The riders enjoyed a much-needed rest with a day off to explore Cleveland. The day off began with a tour of the Cleveland Clinic, where they learned a little about the cancer research conducted at the world-famous institution.
